First run out for the Gulf Air Golf

This bank holiday Monday sees the first race for the brand new VW Golf in it's very distinctive canary yellow livery. The 2 hour EERC race at Brands Hatch is one of the main events in a 7 hours schedule of racing which starts at 11:10. The Golf and the other Britcars should take to the track at 13:20.

The C.B.T. and A.R.T. backed Golf was started for the first time today in readiness for a shakedown tomorrow and the race.

“The team at Frazero have worked round the clock to get the car ready after a parts supply problem stopped our planned race at Silverstone”, explained Stuart,“Steve and I would like to thank Ashley, Dennis and Ben for all their hard work in making a car we are both proud of.”

The car will be run a little down in power this weekend as a warm-up to a full season of racing in the European Endurance, VW Cup and hopefully the British GT Championships.

“Our aim for the weekend is to finish and collect some points. If it's a good result I'll be more than happy.”, said Steve.
