THRUXTON RULED OUT FOR GULFAIR TEAM

Team GulfAir drivers Stuart Scott and Steve Wood were reduced to the role of spectator yesterday (Sun) after they were reluctantly forced to cancel their participation in the British GT Championship endurance race at Thruxton.

The decision to pull out came after Wood was involved in an unpleasant road accident a few days before the race.

"My car was hit from behind by another," said Ruislip-based Steve, "and although I stepped from the wreckage apparently uninjured I have not been feeling well since. We decided that it was better to drop out of Thruxton than to risk racing..."

Added Stuart Scott, who lives near Sandy: "Clearly Steve took a big knock in the crash and it will take some days yet for him to recover fully."

The duo is now aiming to contest the Spa 1000km sports car race at the legendary Belgian circuit on 31 August.
