Scott and Wood announce plans for 2003

Steve and Stuart have announced their plans for the forthcoming season. After an excellent run the EERC in 2002 where they won two races, came second in the Willhire and third in the other race, it was not suprising to hear that they would be contesting the whole championship in 2003.

The championship runs over 7 meetings out of a possible calendar of 14 and one must be the Willhire in June. There is a mixture of large circuits such as Silverstone, Brands Hatch and Oulton Park to a smaller Pembrey and some tracks abroad - Nurburgring, Assen and Zolder. These have attracted some 'big' names to the championship such as Phil Bennett and Peter Cate, both of which racded against Steve in the BTCC last year. The championbship should also be televised and there are plans to attract more supporters with two for one ticket offers.

As well as the EERC they will also be contesting selected rounds of the VW Cup. Steve had won at Brands Hatch last year much to the other competitors dismay and he is looking forward to a rematch. In the Cup Steve and Stuart will race against each other and although they are the best of team-mates there will be a battle on the race track.

To facilitate all this they are having a new car built especially for them. This VW Golf MKIV Turbo will have an extra light shell, 30 extra BHP and a new gear box. The Golf has just had its roll cage fitted and is being painted at ART.
