Rounds 1&2 Donington Park April 3/4

Steve and Stuart had a great start to the season which was totally ruled by the weather and tyre choices. Steve seemed to have the best choice for the conditions with slicks and a dry qualifying (7th) and Stuart slicks and wet for 11th.
Race 1
Steve started on wets whereas most of the field tippy-toed round on slicks. Steve managed to miss the first lap spins and taps and soon led the class but with a dry line appearing his advantage was soon a disadvantage. By the time Stuart took over he had been overtaken by the cars using slicks. Stuart took a couple of laps to settle into the traffic with battles ranging all the up and down the field to contend with. He got his lap times down and was starting to catch the cars in front when it started to rain again. After seeing cars spin off or lose a wheel in front of him he decided a finish was the order of the day (8th).
Race 2

Stuart started the Sunday race with plan of keeping in touch with the rest of the field and for Steve to attack in the second half. Stuart dutifully kept the car on the black stuff and handed over to Steve. Steve was moving up the field when he came across oil dumped on the circuit and spun into the gravel at Coppice. Luckily he managed to get out ("there was no way I staying in there") and crossed the line in 6th place.
An excellent start to the season with scoring valuable points in both races for themselves and JW Racing.

Facts and Gossip

Steve and Stuart's overals have arrived but not in time for the first meeting so those people going to Mondello will be the first to see them.

Next round Mondello Park

May 7th and 8th will see a first for Steve and Stuart as neither have raced at Mondello Park in Eire. The circuit is a mixture of sharp turns and fast straights and is quite long.
For supporters going there - the grandstand is numbered backwards - A is the top row. A word of warning though - the Irish stand up most of the time and are very vocal!

Currently the timetable is not available so please check on http://www.wood-scott.com/timetables/Mondellogts.htm

Dates, timetables and other infomation.

We will keep you informed of any trackdays of other non-racing events in this section along with the race dates.

Stuart will be testing at Snetterton on April 16th (Steve will not be able to).
