Newsletter No 4

June 3rd, 2004
Mondello Park

The sequential gear box worked perfectly at Mondello but the car was not very well suited to the circuit. Stuart qualified 10th and Steve 9th on the very twisty and crowded circuit.
Stuart started the first race and had been having a good old dice with a gaggle of cars, including the Glenvarigill and DRM 360s, the new Monaro and one of the Elises when the safety car came out for the Corvette. Steve then took up the race and after a punt or two the second safety car came out. Steve was suffering with under steer on the slower corners and this allowed a couple through at the restart. What then followed was a tussle with teammate Graeme Langford with places being swapped right to the end with Steve and Stuart finishing in front in 7th.

Race 2 started with more incidents with Steve being hit by the Glenvarigill Ferrari 360. This caused some handling problems at the rear of the car and therefore stalled their progress up the field. It was a case of bring the car safely home whilst learning more and more about the Porsche.

Castle Combe test canceled
Due to a very big work load at ART and Stuart not feeling 100% it was decided not to test at Castle Combe.
