Chris Ryan named as Stuart Scott's team-mate

Stuart Scott has decided on his 2007 team-mate aboard the CBT-sponsored Jaguar XKR GT3.

Scott’s partner for the FIA European GT3 Championship will be Chris Ryan, a driver who has shared a track, if not a car, with Stuart before.

“We raced together in the Beetle Cup back in 1996 when I first started racing,” says the car owner.“ Chris Ryan came third that year in the championship with Mark Sumpter in second (another man who has raced with Stuart since, in both the CBT Golf and Porsche).

Ryan started racing in 1982 in the Formula Ford 1600 scholarship and won the Championship in 1983.

He was the 2000 Pentel Ginetta Champion with 8 wins and three second places.

More recently he has been seen in British GTs with outings in the Eclipse Marcos (and TVR in a Britcar Open race – see on the right with Eclipse’s John Griffiths) and some convincing runs in BTCC’s Production class in 2003, including a class win at Mondello Park.

Before the boys can get to grips with the Jaguar though there is the pressing matter of the XKR being subjected to the FIA’s GT3 equivalency procedure, which is due in the coming weeks at Nogaro (March 7-8).
