Apex Jaguar GT3 Progress
After the disappointment of the homologation delays and engine woes at the start of the 2007 season, the Apex Motorsport Jaguar XKR GT3 programme looks to be getting back on track.
A very successful test on old rubber last week at Donington Park saw the car posting competitive times, with the AER assistance rendered to the project now having solved the previous oil starvation issues.
“It was a joy to drive,” said a beaming Chris Ryan.
A further test this week at Snetterton should see a pair of XKR GT3s running as the team progresses with the homologation process with the confidence of a package which now seems all but finalised.
Better news still is the fact that the team could have three cars available at Monza, where the Jaguars will make their debut.
The third car is currently at Steve Wood’s ART paintshop, receiving their usual faultless finishing touches.
Stuart Scott, who bought the first GT3 car, and Chris Ryan have of course been confirmed in the first car and interest is high in the seats for Monza and beyond in the second chassis, which is owned by a Swiss businessman. What of the third car though?
“To show how committed I am to the Jaguar project I have decided to buy another car, which I will not race but will rent out to other drivers looking to buy a drive.”
That was the news from Stuart “Two Jags” Scott!
