Neil Cunningham

Embassy Racing's Neil Cunningham has added another car to the long list he has had chance to drive after testing the new Apex Motorsports Jaguar XKR at Snetterton.

Cunningham joined the team for a day of running at the Norfolk venue late last week as the team continues to develop the new GT3 car, which the team had hoped would have made its race debut in the weekends British GT Championship races at Brands Hatch before the debut was put back.

The Kiwi drove alongside Chris Ryan – who will share the car with Stuart Scott – during the course of the day and admitted he was impressed with the new machine.

"I shared the car with Chris and we ran the whole day without any problems," Cunningham told Crash.net.

"It was the first time the car had run on Avon Tyres and they performed really well, the car seems to be well suited to them.

"The track was very greasy so it was tough to push for a really quick time but we still lapped in the 1min 10s and I was very impressed with the car. Although they still have work to do, the team has done a fantastic job to get the car sorted and I think it can be a very strong package.

"The supercharged engine sounds amazing and is like nothing I've heard before. I'd love the chance to race the Jaguar at some point in the future!"

Cunningham, who has already tested the GT3 Ascari and Viper outside his regular drive in the Le Mans Series in the Embassy Racing Radical, is due to run in the Jaguar again in the near future as the team continues to prepare the car for its maiden race appearance.
