Jaguar XKR GT3 To Make Racing Debut Next Week In The Britcar 24

Here’s a question for the sportscar racing anoraks out there:

When was the last time that a car made its racing debut in a 24 hour race?

Well after next weekend the new answer will be “At the Britcar 24 Hours 2007” as the Apex Motorsport built Jaguar XKR GT3 (sponsored by Cambridge Business Travel) finally makes its long awaited racing debut.

The car’s owner, Stuart Scott, was bubbling with anticipation when he rang dsc to break the news: “I can’t wait, we had a great test at Gaydon, a full four hours running with absolutely no problems whatsoever and on the back of that I told Richard (Lloyd) that I wanted to race the car as soon as possible.”

He will share driving duties in what is now the #4 car for the 24 Hours with Chris Ryan who is also set to join Stuart Scott in the same chassis for the car’s FIA GT3 debut, currently scheduled for Dubai - with a possible appearance at the Rockingham British GT race weekend still also under consideration.

Apex is currently making a decision on who will join the regular duo, with several names under very active consideration.

The first available race just so happens to be the 24 hour race next weekend, the entry therefore growing by one and now into the mid 60s with at least one more very interesting entry still pending!
